Last night, The Assembly community along with the incredible women of In Good Company raised over $30k* for RAICES Family Unification Bond Fund to support the reunification efforts of immigrant children and families separated under this administration’s border policies. It was an awe-inspiring night (and insta stories can only do so much).
In under a week, this powerful event came together thanks to the time, effort, donations, and passion of the over 250 people and businesses who participated. Thank you to everyone who came, who was on the waitlist hoping to get in, who donated goods, and who sent words of support.
It is not the end of our efforts and we are proud to join with other female-forward community spaces around the country to offer our space for the Make All Doors Open efforts.
That’s not all. While we were planning this, Nick on our team also personally raised over $500 for Lyric center for LGBTQ youth with his The Assembly Pride t-shirts. An Assembly member threw her mother’s 60th birthday in the clubhouse and raised $5k for our partner, La Casa De Las Madres.
The Assembly is a place for health and wellness. These things we are so lucky to be able to prioritize cannot exist when you do not feel safe. Let’s not forget that today or any day. We will always do what we can to support vulnerable communities for whom physical safety is not a given.
The abundance of love in this community is breathtaking. If we haven’t met, we would love to show you The Assembly. Our classes, programs, community groups, and connected experiences are all built so that when we need to, we can be so powerful together.
I hope to see you in the studio (or at this weekend’s run club meeting — free and open to anyone curious about running!), in the clubhouse, in the backyard, and checking out The Shop (now open)!
